Description

When a 3 year old lacks the skills to communicate, they often hit, kick or bite their siblings in an effort to express their frustration. When a 6 year old reaches the point of frustration they often lash out to those around them. These are versions of temper tantrums. When an adult lacks the skills/maturity to process their emotions, they act in the same way. When people have no other way of communicating, they turn to violence. When nations or leaders of nations feel like they are being exploited and not being heard, they threaten violence or act violently towards their adversary. Violence represents immaturity. Children, people or nations who lack the skills to express themselves in productive ways resort to violence. Children, people and nations who feel like they are not being heard act out in violence. Sitting at a table negotiating with leaders of nations who are at war with one another is not much different than sitting at a table resolving conflict with children. If you have violent tendencies or urges, you should work on your communication skills and find better, more productive ways to express yourself.
