Come learn something different…Join our in-residence embroidery teacher Jo Cohen, of Sawmill Camerretti, to learn how to Sashiko Boro! Sashiko Boro is a type of traditional Japanese embroidery that is used for mending clothing. This traditional method is a freeform modern-looking design that makes great works of art that can be used for practical things like jeans and denim jackets. This method of embroidery focuses on layering patches of material for mending as well as creating artistic and fun designs. In this art form, you are only limited by your imagination. You are the designer. It is a very simple method to learn. In minutes your will be able to Sashiko like a pro! Please bring jeans or a jacket to work on.
Nest will have all of the authentic Sashiko supplies from Japan for purchase at the DIY Bar! Materials are not included in the class fee for this workshop.Each attendee will receive a Nest store coupon exclusive to this event.
