Charity fundraiser: A "Ride to Rebuild" the Kokomo Indiana domestic violence shelter. The Need: The Domestic Violence Shelter needs updating and repairs. The UNITED STATE of Women "USW" Kokomo team is partnering with community leaders with compassion in their hearts, the willingness to help, and the determination to make a difference for abused women and their children in our city and surrounding counties. Our Campaign, Project UNITED: Raise $55,000 to help continue to make the Domestic Violence Shelter, a place that gives women hope that a better future exists. Provide a sanctuary for a safe harbor and transition. Immerse women in courage to have the strength to keep moving forward, and the certainty of knowing support and shelter is always out there. Our AIM: The housing has not been updated in over twelve years. The AIM is to renovate the entire worn interior living spaces, replace broken or essential furniture and renovate the kitchen.
