Description
I've often discribed my style of guitar playing and writing, as Cheap Trick and Pink Floyd doing an album together... Melodic, power chords, with hints of heart felt psychedelic feeling in the mix. Can be tight to lose or weave in between... Comfortable just blending into a background rhythm, or solo up front.
Off the top of my head,
Cheap Trick. Seattle grunge.
Goo goo dolls. Hard rock.
Flaming lips. Heart felt ballads.
Foo fighters. Experimental.
Nada surf. Ambient.
Liz Phair. Indy folk.
Beatles. Classics.
Black Sabbath. Underground.
Led zeppelin. college radio.
Kay Hanley (letters to Cleo).
To name a few genres..
I'm influenced by lots of music, but a rocker at heart.. enjoy learning and playing covers, but mostly inspired by creating original music (yours or mine). I have songs and vocal melodies that I would like to expand upon and record, and or perform live.
I'd jump at a chance to form a
Cheap Trick tribute, as a side note..
lots of guitars and plenty of gear.. I'm super easy going. Active, healthy, drug free, non judgmental, just me..
50 something going on 30 something kinda spirit.. I'm just hoping to find that chemistry. Open to the journey in the meantime. Above all, looking to share in that creative enjoyment and goodtimes.. just want to play..
I Do not have a space for rehearsing with drums, but can afford to pitch in for a band space. And always open for a late night writing session.
If interested, or have questions, email me and I'd be happy to chat, exchange phone numbers, etc...
let's jam for the sake of post covid creativity!. And who knows, just maybe, we can get Portland's next hottest Rock band off the ground!!... Robert..
