Medford Sets Committee To Guide Development Of 10-Year Plan

MEDFORD, MA — Medford has finalized its 21-person Steering Committee to guide the development of the Master Plan, a 10-year vision for the city. More than 40 community members applied for a seat on the Committee, which includes local business owners, planning professionals, parents, grandparents, Medford High School students, City Council and Community Development Board members and residents from different neighborhoods across the city. The Steering Committee consists of: City Council President Rick CaravielloCommunity Development Board Vice Chairperson Jacqueline FurtadoDavid BaumgartnerLibby BrownGrace CaldaraMaury CarrollLindsey GaudetBonnie HuangLaura JasinskiKhushdeep KaurJudy KimRyan LawlorEthan Lay-SleeperTom LincolnKelly LynemaHenry MilorinMartha OndrasRick OrlandoMatt PreotleJess RobashJohn SousaThe Committee will meet about six times over the course of the 18-month planning process and review drafts, provide input and serve as a liaison between community groups and the planning team with the help of the city's consultant, Agency Landscape + Planning. There will be many opportunities for public engagement throughout the 18-month planning process, including community meetings, online engagement, focus groups, engagement toolkits, and online surveys. As a Plan Guide, residents would attend an orientation workshop and receive a toolkit to help the Committee spread the word.
