LONG BEACH, NY — Residents voted in favor of a $144.7 million school budget Tuesday. It passed 1,115-245, the Long Beach School District said.
The board's 2021-2022 budget was cut by about $500,000, or 0.28 percent. There was no tax hike.
The budget does include one-time capital funds for improvement projects at East Elementary School, Long Beach Middle School and Lindell Elementary, the district said on its website.
A deep breakdown shows the proposed budget featured more than $200,000 in transportation aid and foundation aid increased by $643,000 from the previous year.
Proposition 2: Expenditure from the 2018 Capital Reserve Fund for districtwide health and safety capital projects passed overwhelmingly, 1115-218.
Sam Pinto, the incumbent, won a board trustee seat with 937 votes. Alexis Pace won the other seat with 759.
