Levittown School Budget Passes; Incumbent Trustees Reelected

LEVITTOWN, NY — Voters headed to the polls in Levittown on Tuesday and approved the school district's proposed 2021-22 budget. The budget was voted in by residents 1,441 to 829. The proposed spending plan for the 2021-22 school year is $232,482,693, which is an increase of 2.2 percent, or $5,048,552 over the current budget. To fund the increase, the district proposes a tax levy of $149,140,845, up 1.95 percent from the current year's, which the district says is allowable under the tax cap. In additional to the budget, voters also cast ballots for Board of Education trustees. There were three candidates running for two open seats. Incumbents Marianne Adrian and James Moran were returned to their seats, with 1,349 and 1,322 votes, respectively. Challenger Linda Testamark received 928.
