This CCFAM event is for kids ages 5-12. Kids will compete against others in their age group to build cardboard forts in teams of four. This is a Chaffee Crossing Farmers & Artisans Market event designs for kids ages 5-12. Kids will compete against others in their age group to build cardboard "forts" to win prizes from Parrot Island Waterpark. Teams of 3-4 kids will be divided by ages 5-9 years and 10-12 years. Each team will be given a "kit" of cardboard boxes and chalk to build and decorate a cardboard fort . Judging will be based on historical authenticity, creativity, and construction. An adult volunteer will be assisgned to assist with tape and a box cutter. Judges will award 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each age group. A separate grand prize will be awarded for the Most Creative Design in each age group. 9:00 Chaffee Crossing Farmers & Artisans Market Opens 9:00-10:00 MCIAF Registration/Check In Opens 9:30 Richard Rauch Band begins playing on the Blue Suede Stage 10:00 Instructions/Rules will be give to teams from the Blue Suede Stage 10:30 MCIAF Fort Construction Begins 11:30 Construction stops; judges finalize scoring 11:45 Winners announced, prizes awarded, photos taken at Blue Suede Stage 12:00 Event concludes, breakdown begins 12:00 .357 Band starts playing on the Blue Suede Stage
