2 Injured In 1-Car Crash Into Newtown House: Police

NEWTOWN, CT — The driver and a passenger were injured Tuesday morning when the Honda sedan they were in crashed into a tree and then a house on West Street in Newtown, according to police. The extent of the injuries in the 10:30 a.m. crash were not known, but the home was vacant at the time. Newtown firefighters had to use a hydraulic cutter and additional saws to extricate the driver, a 28-year-old Bridgeport resident, from the vehicle. Additional details on the cause of the crash were not available; an investigation into the crash is underway by members of the Newtown Police Department.
