NEWTOWN, CT — As Connecticut takes big strides toward normalcy Wednesday and lifts many of its coronavirus protocols, the Cyrenius H. Booth Library in Newtown is following suit and reopening many of its services. Patrons are still required to wear masks inside the building, but officials have made available limited workspace, seating and public computers. Additionally, some in-person children's programs are available on a limited basis, and self-service scanning, faxing and photocopying also are allowed. "It is our goal to provide access to library services in an environment that is healthy and safe for our community and for our workers," Director Douglas Lord wrote on the library's website. "Library staff have been happy to serve the public within safety protocols and guidelines that have been carefully crafted for their protection."
