ANNAPOLIS, MD — The Blue Angels will fly over Annapolis three times next week. The Navy stunt planes come to town for Commissioning Week at the U.S. Naval Academy. The planes are scheduled to arrive Tuesday, May 25 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., the Capital Gazette reported. Journalist Heather Mongilio noted that they will have their first air show that day at 2 p.m. The Capital added that the Blue Angels will have another performance Wednesday, May 26 at 2 p.m. The stunt team will also fly over the Naval Academy's commencement at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium on Friday, May 28, Mongilio explained. Vice President Kamala Harris will address the Midshipmen at their graduation ceremony, which starts at 10 a.m. Erik Evans, executive director of the Downtown Annapolis Partnership, told Patch that the Naval Academy is still limiting visitors. With few people allowed on the Yard, Evans suggested watching the Blue Angels from one of these locations: Waterfront restaurants like Pusser's Caribbean Grille, Bread and Butter Kitchen, Carrol's Creek Cafe and Chart HouseCity Dock and street end parks in EastportTour boats like Watermark and WoodwindThe World War II Memorial as well as the adjacent Jonas and Anne Catharine Green Park Commissioning Week will limit car and boat traffic. Mayor Gavin Buckley told boaters to expect maritime restrictions during the shows. The Maryland Route 450 bridge will be closed Tuesday from 10:45 a.m. until about 3:45 p.m. for the Blue Angels rehearsal. The crossing will shut down again Wednesday from 1:45 p.m. until around 4 p.m. for the second show.
