ANNAPOLIS, MD — Police said an Annapolis apartment scam cost a victim $2,290. The man reported the fraud to police on May 11 around 4:15 p.m., a press release noted.
Officers advised that the victim saw a Craigslist ad for an apartment on Prince George Street. The man sent the unidentified suspect $1,295 for a down-payment and $995 for the first month's rent, the write-up explained.
The Annapolis Police Department mentioned that the victim and the suspect agreed to meet up, but the scammer never showed.
