AUSTIN, TX — A man who was shot and killed in East Austin on Saturday has been identified.
Marvin Getrelle "Binky" Henson was identified by police Tuesday as the man who was found unresponsive with a gunshot wound in the 45oo block of Little Hill Circle.
Officers were called to the East Austin neighborhood around 10:53 p.m. Saturday for a report on shots fired.
When officers arrived, they found Henson unresponsive on the street with a gunshot wound. Austin-Travis County EMS and Austin fire attempted life saving measures on Henson, but he later died on scene.
On Sunday, the Travis County Medical Examiner's office said Henson's death was caused by a gunshot wound and ruled his death a homicide.
Homicide detectives and crime scene technicians were called to investigate and process the scene, officials said.
Investigators learned Henson had left a friend's house and was walking on the street when he was approached by several unknown suspects. A verbal argument could be heard before shots were fired, authorities said.
