Press release from the City of Arlington: May 13, 2021 Arlington ISD is working to protect students, staff and parents against COVID-19. The district is partnering with the Arlington Fire Department for a vaccination clinic Monday, May 17, 2021. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (C.D.C.) recently recommended Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine for children ages 12-15, saying the vaccine is proven safe and effective. As a result, Monday's vaccination effort will be open to everyone 12 and older. Anyone interested in receiving their vaccine should visit the Arlington ISD Athletics Center, located at 1001 E. Division Street, from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. May 17 is a pre-scheduled remote learning day, making it a more convenient option for students, parents and staff. According to the C.D.C., "Though most children with COVID-19 have mild or no symptoms, some children can get severely ill and require hospitalization. There have also been rare, tragic cases of children dying from COVID-19 and its effects, including multisystem inflammatory syndrome in children, or MIS-C."
