Brush Fire Briefly Closes Lakeville Highway In Sonoma County

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — Lakeville Highway has reopened 1 mile north of state Highway 37 in Sonoma County following a vegetation fire Tuesday afternoon that was burning on both sides of the roadway. A small fire on the right-hand shoulder was reported around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, and according to California Highway Patrol dispatchers, there may have been as many as three small fires. A Sig-alert was issued at 2:55 p.m. and traffic was backed up at least a half-mile in each direction because of the fires, the California Highway Patrol reported. At 3:22 p.m., the California Highway Patrol reported the Sig-alert was lifted and the roadway was open.
