Fake Residency Cards, Cocaine, Seized During Traffic Stop: Cops

JOLIET, IL — Joliet police say officers recovered fake Social Security cards and phony residency cards following Tuesday night's traffic stop of 33-year-old motorist Eduardo Montoya, who has lived in Chicago. Montoya was booked into the Will County Jail on charges of possessing controlled substances, obstructing justice, possession of fraudulent identification, driving while having a revoked license and two active Will County arrest warrants, according to Joliet police. The incident happened around 11:15 p.m. on the city's east side. Officers pulled over Montoya's vehicle at Parks and Ward Avenues. "Officers contacted the driver and determined that the name he had provided was fictitious and that he did not possess a valid driver's license," Joliet police reports show. "Officers also observed open alcohol inside of the vehicle." When officers searched Montoya's car, cocaine was found in the center console, police said. "Upon (the) search of Montoya, officers recovered a fictitious permanent resident and Social Security cards," Joliet police announced. "Officers confirmed Montoya's identity through fingerprints." Montoya's two outstanding Will County arrest warrants involved failing to appear in court to face his DUI and aggravated fleeing and eluding charges, Joliet police said.
