Mental Health Action Day is May 20, 2021...but at ForeverU...Mental Health Action Day is EVERY DAY! By K.P. Lynne and S.K. Patel (ForeverU Board of Directors Member)  Being a young person is hard enough these days...but when you mix in the current state of society, a global pandemic, and extreme changes in school routines...mental (brain) health can be seriously affected. This is NOT a sign of weakness...this is a sign of being HUMAN.  There should be absolutely no stigma attached to brain health care. The brain is a vital organ and must be cared for just like any other vital organ. Seeking help for the brain is no different than seeking help for Asthma or any other physical ailment one might encounter.  ForeverU is a non-profit organization committed to empowering youth with the mental skills and tools for becoming more mindful, resilient, and emotionally intelligent.  The organization specializes in a three-part program model that positively impacts adolescent mental health and wellness, social and character development, self-esteem, and desire for personal achievement. Each day, there's an average of 3,700+ suicide attempts by young people in grades 9-12 and suicide has become the leading cause of death for people aged 10-34. Approximately 90% of those who died from suicide had a mental (brain) health condition. If you are a teen, young adult, a parent, friend or mentor to a young person, watch this informative podcast with Ryan Hesslau of ForeverU, sponsored by Gwendolyn J. Sterk and the Family Law Group (ForeverU Board of Directors Member) and Building Hope For the Future, to discover how the programs at ForeverU can provide support. If you are a local business leader...in a position to help...please consider sponsoring programs at ForeverU.  [email protected] https://www.foreverumovement.o... ***ForeverU programs are intended for ongoing prevention and emotional support...if you or someone you know... is in immediate danger...call 911...or the National Suicide Prevention Line at 1-800-273-8255
