SCARSDALE, NY — Voters in the Scarsdale school district went to the polls Tuesday to decide whether to approve the school district's 2012-22 budget.
The $166.9 million budget was approved/rejected. The vote tally was 1,524 yes to 264 no.Superintendent Thomas Hagerman said the district was grateful to the community for its continued support.
"The Scarsdale Schools are able to provide exceptional educational experiences because of this support," he said in a prepared statement. "We also understand the fiscal responsibility and stewardship which comes with this support, and we take this charge very seriously."
The budget increase was 2.56 percent. The property tax levy was 2.15 percent.
Two trustee seats were up for election. The winning candidates were Jim Dugan and Jessica Resnick-Ault. Incumbent Alison Tepper was also on the ballot.
