PPL is accepting applications for our 8-month Building Operations Technician program to get you started in a hands-on career in the growing field of residential or commercial building maintenance and operations. Starting wage averages $19 with room for growth. In this program, you will: * Earn the industry-recognized OSHA 30 certification * Become an NRF-certified customer service and sales specialist. * Receive individualized resume and interview support. * Benefit from two paid attempts at your boilers license exam * Participate in a two-week paid job shadow * Build personal relationships with hiring managers and recruiters from our partners at Hennepin County, the State of Minnesota, the City of Minneapolis, Aeon, Sherman Associates, CommonBond Communities, CSM Corporation, & PPL. You will also learn PPL’s unique curriculum, centered on discovering your strengths and using them to thrive in your new work place. PPL offers wrap around services as part of all of our programs so you can get the support and resources you need to find the right next step on your career path. And our services are always free. This program begins in mid-June with classes on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings through February 2022. Classes are held both online and in-person at Minneapolis College. To qualify, you need to have a high school diploma or GED or equivalent, be 18+ years of age and legal to work in the US, have proficient math & reading skills, and have six months experience with hands-on work (maintenance, landscaping, mechanics, etc).
