Stylistically speaking, here's our bio: Ukemi performs cinematic and cathartic sounds that bring to mind gypsy rock, indie folk, and a film score - all in one show. Established in 2008, the Austin-based band has been compared to the dynamic and dense stylings of Swell Season, Gogol Bordello, Lord Huron, and Devotchka. Find them on Spotify or at UkemiMusic.com. After a hiatus like most other passion projects in the past year, we're all fully vaccinated and looking to get back into it. Our live setup varies by venue, with some gigs involving a full kit while more intimate settings (ie smaller house shows) would require a quieter hybrid kit - see video samples on our website to get an idea of what we mean. We'd ideally be rehearsing for a few weeks to shake the rust off and start off with some "listening room" style gigs.
