Description
I’m a bass player who relocated to GA from Seattle last fall. Because of Rona, I’m just now thinking about getting involved in a project again. I don’t know anything about the music scene here, so I’ll just describe myself and see if there’s any hope for me.
I’m primarily interested in original music in the vein of progressive rock, from Porcupine Tree to Rush to King Crimson to Haken to Dream Theater. Heavy and light, complex and smart. Adding funk and jazz elements would be cool. It’s prog, right? Maybe some re-imagined covers.
Age is meaningless to me, but if it’s relevant to you, then I’ve been playing for decades. Lots of bands, live and studio experience, in several different states. I’ve taken early retirement to enjoy the things I want to do. So my schedule is flexible.
I’d like to write and record and gig. Create a band that is focused on making music that is satisfying to us and enjoyable for an audience. Not career-oriented but serious about doing something meaningful. Limited travel.
I play 4-strings, tuned either standard or BEAD. I also do fretless. I have sufficient gear to play any size venue. But I am thinking of going ampless like Geddy one of these days.
I’m in Acworth and I’m vaccinated.
If any of this tickles your funny bone, drop me a reply and tell me what you’re up to. Your vision is as important to me as your credentials. So tell me what’s on your mind. If someone just wants to fill me in on the scene, please do.
I look forward to hearing from you. My name is Steve.
