Info on resonator sought

I played guitar for over 30 years. I had a major stroke that left me with various residue. I gave my guitar to my son. Now I want to get back into music. On my fretting hand I have trigger finger and arthritis which really messes with my playing. Does anyone here have similar issues? If so or if you know someone who does, Would a resonator be compatible. My fingers on the picking hand don't have as much of an issue and seem to work just fine for picking. Thanks for any info.
