Servicing Events: Controlling of heat/cooling appliances. Opening and closing of the church property and securing premises after events as instructed. During events as instructed Employee must be present for emergency procedures, must enforce house rules, and must make a diligent use of time. Employee must be on the premises on the four weekdays that the German American School Association hosts preschool classes. Upkeep of Church Premises: The entire church, inside and out, must be maintained in a sanitary and appealing condition. Appliances and fixtures should be kept in full working condition. It is the duty of the Employee as caretaker to: Oversee regular certification of Elevator, Fire Extinguishers, Back Flow, Air Conditioning, and Heating with the respective contractors and/or licensing agencies. Pick up trash on and off premises as needed. Communicate and coordinate with cleaning company and contractors.1 Set up furniture and appliances for First German UMC events. Ensure that all equipment is in a usable and appealing condition. Maintenance: Make sure that the lights, appliances, and fixtures are working properly, and replace parts as needed. In the event of a malfunction of a major feature the Employee is to report to Pastor Kurt. If Pastor Kurt is unavailable, the next person in the line of authority is the Chair of the Board of Trustees. Bathrooms and kitchen should have sufficient supplies for all events. Perform minor repairs that do not require outside service, and, if necessary, order and supervise outside contracted labor, in cooperation with the Chair of the Board of Trustees. Ensure that the church is in compliance with all building and fire regulations. Be available to assist inspections as necessary. Tool Room: Set up and manage an inventory list for all tools and equipment acquired and owned by the church. Keep the tool room clean and organized. Gardening: Monitor the irrigation system. Water/drain all potted plants. Maintain open communication with the gardener. Purchases and Reimbursement: Expenses are reimbursed on a monthly basis, based on receipts submitted and reimbursement forms filled out (these are available in the church office work room). Any expenses exceeding $300 need confirmation by the Chair of the Board of Trustees. Church errands with Employee’s car will be compensated per the standard milage rate.
