People are at the heart of our strategyA family-owned Group, Roquette offers a positive and attractive work and career environment, in which everyone can learn, develop, contribute to the overall company performance and be recognized for doing so.Job DescriptionJob Summary:- Supports and adheres to all safety, environmental and quality requirements.- Qualifies and maintains proficiency in Hydrogenation Operator position and meets job description requirements for that position.- Performs the duties of Hydrogenation Operator.- Maintains a clean work place free of product buildup.- Performs other duties as assigned.Essential functions:- Wears designated PPE- Protects safety, the environment and product quality in all situations- Participates in Process Safety Management (PSM)- Works rotating shifts as scheduled- Qualifies on Hydrogenation Operator position- Qualified to drive a fork lift- Qualified and physically able to wear and work in a dust mask and full-face respirator- Remotely operates process via Foxboro DCS- Conducts routine tours and inspections of process equipment in the field- Manually manipulates equipment and performs other manual operations as required (e.g. Adds, handles and drums catalyst, operates manual valves, adds calcium carbonate, etc…)- Draws and analyzes process samples as needed or requested- Works closely with other employees (Ref F and other) and contractors- Communicates effectively, both written and verbal, with other employees, contractors and outside personnel- Works with maintenance employees, contractors and outside personnel to complete equipment maintenance, repairs and modifications- Maintains a clean work place and process- Performs assigned computer functions- Safely lifts tools, parts, product and equipment, using others or mechanical means as needed to ensure a safe lift.- Ascends and descends stairs up to 5 stories- Works in hot and humid inside environment- Works outside in all seasons- Analyzes process indications (physical and electronic) and trends to troubleshoot process issues and out-of-range control variables- Maintains process logs and log book, electronic and manual- Operates several unit operations and evolutions at one time, multi-tasking effectively- Operates with varying levels of supervision – one to many contacts per 8 hour shift- Carries out work plan and housekeeping schedule as defined in verbal instructions, written Team Leader notes and master cleaning schedule.- Monitors and controls usage of various process chemicals and consumables (e.g. nickel catalyst, NaOH, calcium carbonate, etc…)- Performs essential functions of the job he/she is assigned to performAccountabilities:- On budget safety, environmental and quality performance- Product output matching the production plan- Satisfied customers- Chemical and consumable usage meets budget and technical targets- Positive interaction with others and good morale within and across departments- A clean and tidy workplace free of product buildupJob Specifications:- Ability to work a rotating shift- Contributes to the safety of others in the department- Qualifies on Hydrogenation Operator job in the designated timeframe- Monitors and understands assigned processes; optimizes process performance without sacrificing safety, environment or quality (e.g. makes appropriate adjustments to reactor batches, etc.)- Performs assigned environmental and housekeeping tasks- Requires minimal supervision to sustain process operation- Commonly works in high heat for 30 minutes at a time, sometimes longer.- Works with hot liquid and steam systems, and around hot piping.- Occasionally works outside for 60 minutes at a time, sometimes longer, in all seasons.- Spends extended time monitoring a series of computers.- Operates processes that are unique technology to Roquette in a highly competitive environment.
