Desperately in need of advice

I have a dog that is dear to my heart and three days ago he bit me. He is a 4 year old blue pit and I have owned him since he was 8 weeks old, he has never shown aggression towards me but he has towards others in the past, almost everybody but me. Now I'm faced with the most heart wrenching, most difficult decision of my life, weather he lives or dies! I can't bring myself to putting him down because I love him so very much and I look into his eyes and I just can't do it. Please don't be mean or rude and tell me to put him down, I don't need to hear that anymore than I already have. What I am asking for is any advice that can save my dog, Keno's life. So if anyone has any suggestions for me please respond. I'm so heart broken and don't know where to start. This dog means the world to me still. I can't give up on him, not yet.
