Truth matters. However people tend to select certain facts and spin them in a way that parallels their own beliefs. Twisted facts do not equal truth. It is also important to note the beliefs do not automatically represent truth. Just because you believe something does not make it true. It is a dangerous time when people use selective facts to spin them in their favor. If a person is not dealing purely in facts, they are living in delusion. When we hear statements in life (especially from the media) we should ask ourselves. Is that statement true? It is important to not interject your own opinion when asking yourself this. Only proven facts matter when finding truth. Option is a must be set aside. Here is an example- “Donald Trump is responsible for inciting the insurrection at the capitol building”. Based on the information that I have, I personally believe that is true, but that is my opinion. Not necessarily fact or truth. I am categorizing my opinion on the subject from truth by saying “I believe Trump is guiltily of inciting the insurrection”. That s much different than making a statement that “Trump is guilty” without hard evidence. My belief that Trump is guilty does not equal truth. There is nothing wrong with having an opinion but we must be careful to confuse our opinions with facts. Your beliefs do not necessarily equate to truth. Be cognizant of that.
