Description
Explore Seattle Center at Sunset and Blue Hour Some of the city's most interesting elements are not always explored after the sun sets. In this, mini-workshop, Kate will lead you through Seattle Center. Sharing tips on working in the evening, starting a little before sunset and into blue hour. Settings - What are the best settings for the environment and whyComposition - Essential ideas on composition, and some unique takes to inspire you to explore places with your own vision and ideas. Before the event, Kate will share an ebook/pdf with elements that will help you in general, on the topic of urban landscapes, as well go-to settings for capturing images in blue hour & night, gear and more. This will be a great guide to have with you in the field, and keep as notes for future outings on your own. What to BringCamera with at least one fully charged battery (extra battery if you have it)Lens, Kate recommends something like a wide angle, perhaps 10-20, or 16-35, or if you are into primes, 20, 35 could be great. If you think you would want to get closer to your subject a telephoto can certainly be beneficial. Tripod - this is going to be necessary, while we can push our ISO's to higher levels, this doesn't always result in a sharp image. A tripod will allow us to let in light via shutter speed. Cable Release - Or Camera Brand app - to initiate the shutter. Layers - Seattle weather is a little unpredictable Neutral Density Filters, if you want to try to play with some slower shutter speeds before sunset. This could be fun if we have cool clouds. Attendees will leave this session with stronger photographic skills, including technical understanding, creativity, and more. This session is for those who have an understanding of using their cameras in manual; a solid grasp of ISO, Aperture, Shutter Speed, White Balance, and essentials in their menu system.
