Description
Join us for the first in a series of FREE Carousel Family Days in celebration of the Glen Echo Park Carousel's 100th Anniversary! Our first Carousel Family Day will be held at the Park in the Bumper Car Pavilion and will include a Make-Your-Own-Carousel craft and creating a Happy Birthday card for the carousel. Also, visitors will be able to watch a mural celebrating the carousel's centennial being painted in the Park, and kids participating in Carousel Family Day will receive their own coloring sheet with the mural outline so they can “paint the mural” too! This is a FREE activity and open to all families (a donation of $10 per family is suggested but not required), but due to COVID-19 guidelines we will not be able to accommodate as many families as we have in the past with our park-wide festivals. Pre-registration is required. [NOTE: This is not a multiple day event. There are multiple time slots for this one-day event. Other monthly Carousel Family Days will be posted separately to Eventbrite.] Registered families/pods will receive craft activity bags when they check in that will include all the supplies necessary to create one Make-Your-Own-Carousel, decorate one Happy Birthday hat, and make one Happy Birthday card. One mural coloring page will also be provided. There is a limit of four (4) craft activity bags per reservation - attendees will select the number of bags after selecting a time slot. This activity does NOT include tickets to ride the carousel. Visit glenechopark.org/carousel to learn how to purchase tickets and ride safely. COVID-19 precautions will be taken to ensure the safety of all families: Families or pods of up to six (6) people can make a reservation for one time slot. The number of people per reservation may not exceed six (6).
