I'm in a rock band trying to get to that next step of creating quality recordings. We've done some studio packages in the past but they have been expensive and the mixes were pretty ass. We've recently decided to put in the investment into self recording but we don't really have any experience with mixing/mastering. I'm trying to learn myself but I know it's going to take years of experience to get to the level that we want these recordings to be at.
