Hourly Rate: $16/hr Schedule: Day - 8am-4:30pm (Monday - Friday) Day - 7am-3:30pm (Monday - Friday) The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for a variety of different maintenance duties. They will be responsible for ensuring that production stays in operation by maintaining machinery, buildings, and mechanical equipment. The Maintenance Tech reports directly to the Maintenance Manager. Roles and Responsibilities: Maintain a safe, clean, and organized working environment Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, production dryers and large capacity horizontal blenders. Read and follow diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, and troubleshoot issues. Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation and provide timely solutions and prevent down time. Use a variety of power and hand tools to dismantle, examine, and repair defective equipment. Control downtime by communicating with production managers to schedule preventative maintenance on machinery and equipment when not in use. Assist in fabrication and repair while utilizing shop equipment and tools Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies by checking inventory stock and notifying maintenance Manager of items needed. Maintain detailed log of work completed and follow-up on work orders. Must record time, type of work completed, etc. Follow all safety procedures and follow Lock-Out Tag-Out procedures to isolate and de-energize equipment prior to attempting repairs or maintenance. Contribute to team effort in maintaining multiple production lines while keeping open communication and prioritizing needs based on production demands. Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Must be hard working and able to work in a fast-paced, goal oriented environment Must be punctual and self-motivated Ability to work individually and with a team Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position including walking, standing, stooping and climbing Must be able to work at heights above 30 ft. on a scissor lift or similar equipment Must show basic understanding of power and hand tools Must demonstrate basic knowledge of mechanics, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and pneumatics. Ability to lift up to 60 pounds without restriction, using proper safety methods Must have excellent communication skills Must be extremely detail oriented Must be able to work in a facility that handles allergens including wheat, nuts, soy, egg and milk. Ability to work in open environments, exposed to pungent odors and varying climates.
