Join a local Wildlife Ecologist for a morning walk around Emery Farm to observe, explore, learn about, and appreciate the plants and animals on this land. The Ecologist will discuss habitats on the farm as you look for birds, pollinators, animals, flowering plants, and trees. You never know what you may find! Each walk will allow you to experience mindful moments in nature and build your understanding of ecological communities and our mutual interdependence. Audience: Adult Cost: FREE but pre-registration is required; there is a minimum of 5 participants required for this activity to take place and a maximum capacity so please sign-up in advance. Registration closes at 3pm the day before. What to Wear: as this is a nature walk on a farm, please wear sturdy shoes that can get muddy and be aware that ticks, mosquitoes, and other bugs are abundant. Optionally Bring: binoculars and a camera if you would like! We will be following town of Durham COVID protocols which encourages, but not requires, members of the public utilizing public recreational lands to wear a face covering over their nose and mouth. The guide will not be wearing a mask while outdoors so that he can clearly lead the tour. We will encourage people to remain socially distanced while outside on the tour as well.
