Press release from the Boston Police Department: May 18, 2021 At about 11:45 AM on Tuesday May 18, 2021, officers assigned to District B-2 (Roxbury) arrested Geovanny Sosa, 22, of Dorchester on firearm related charges following a traffic stop in the area of 702 Dudley Street in Roxbury. The officers were on patrol when they stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic infraction. As the officers approached to speak with the operator, later identified as Sosa, the officers immediately observed several plastic baggies of marijuana strewn about the interior of the car and an open bottle of champagne placed on the floor behind the passenger seat. The officers continued their investigation, removing the operator to perform a pat frisk of the vehicle at which time they located and recovered a loaded 9mm Glock 17 handgun from the rear seat. The suspect was placed in custody on scene without incident and will appear in Roxbury District Court on charges of Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition and Possession of a Large Capacity Feeding Device.
