LINDENHURST, NY — Residents in the Lindenhurst School District have approved a 2021-21 school budget by a margin of 591 to 366. In addition, the proposition to utilize Capital Reserve Fund to finance projects for the acquisition and installation of new windows in the Daniel Street School has passed by a margin of 635 to 310. The $171.3 million budget is a 1.67 percent increase over the current year and includes a 0.98 percent increase in the school tax levy, within the state's tax cap. Mary Ellen Cunningham, Kevin Garbe and Donna Hochman all won seats on the school board. The school board vote breakdown: Mary Ellen Cunningham - 710 Kevin Garbe - 680 Donna Hochman - 652
