Description
ROCKVILLE, MD — A 75-year-old man has died after being rescued from a house fire Monday in Rockville, according to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service.
The blaze was reported around 4:43 p.m. at 1401 Kersey Lane.
Ragheb Zeineddine — who was rescued from the home's second floor — was rushed to a hospital where he later died, fire department spokesman Pete Piringer said. His death was likely due to smoke inhalation.
Zeineddine's dog, a Goldendoodle, did not survive.
Authorities are working to determine the fire's cause, but believe it may have started in the electrical outlet in the basement wall.
Piringer said the fire caused about $210,000 in damage.
