GIG HARBOR, WA — It's been nearly four years since he vanished, but Gig Harbor police have not given up in their search for missing Michael Kittler. According to officers, 42-year-old Kittler was last seen on May 22, 2017, when he left his Gig Harbor home. Friends or family say they haven't heard from him in the thousand-plus days since that happened, but officers say they aren't closing the case. Monday, they reissued a public plea for help, asking anyone who may have seen Kittler on the date of his disappearance — or at any time since — to come forward and share what they know. Witnesses say that, at the time of his disappearance, Kittler was wearing a blue and white beanie, blue jeans, and a dark blue and green plaid shirt. He is described as a Caucasian male around 5'8" tall, around 175 lbs and with brown hair and eyes. Before he vanished, Kittler had been known to frequently visit Auburn and Tacoma, but also has ties to Kittitas County, Cle Elum, and the Ellensburg area. Anyone who knows anything about Kittlers death can report it anonymously to CrimeStoppers of Tacoma/Pierce County by calling their tipline at 1-(800) 222-TIPS.
