We are looking for care for our 20-year-old developmentally disabled son in our home while we, his parents, work from home. Heiko enjoys puzzles, bird watching and listening to music, and has a good sense of humor. Depending on your driving experience, we may ask you to take him for outings by the water during your time with him. Heiko needs a little assistance with some things, such as putting on a jacket and washing his hands thoroughly, supervision to keep him safe, and interaction to keep him occupied and happy.
You would work for us through an agency, Manos Home Care. We are looking for someone for Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, approx. 9-4.
Eventually, Heiko's day program will resume an in-person program, and we would no longer need your services. This is likely to be a short-term position, a few months or so. However, you would likely be able to find further work through Manos.
We are located in the Berkeley flats. Unlimited parking is available on our street.
