Date: 05/18/2021 Job Title: Fabricator (Woodshop) Department: Production, Alameda Reports to Brian Garber, Shop Supervisor Position Summary: This role is for a fabricator within the woodshop, primarily responsible for the building of housing components: wall panels, roof panels, kitchen, and bath modules etc. This position reports to the Shop Supervisor and works under the lead fabricator of any given project. The responsibilities of this position are varied and dependent upon the skill of the individual. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized work space • Contribute to the shop organization and safety as required • Clearly communicate any project problems to the lead fabricator • Fabricate a quality product per construction drawings on time and on budget • Track hours to ensure completion within the allotted time frame • Assist the lead fabricator throughout each project • Maintain the Group Delphi standard for quality, integrity, work ethic, attitude, and decorum. • Special projects as assigned Required knowledge, skills and abilities: • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. • Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English. • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability • Basic computer skills • Must be able to perform work in a safe and efficient manner with minimal supervision. • Ability to organize all facets of fabrication • Ability to understand all the components of the project, including woodworking, metalworking, plastics, graphics, electrical, audio-visual, and crating • Demonstrate high level of proficiency in woodworking, including knowledge of machinery and hand tools, use of jigs and templates, understanding of adhesives, fasteners, hardware, and a good understanding of materials and their properties. Education and Experience: • High School Diploma or GED • 4+ years’ woodshop work experience with references Physical Demands: • Moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing. • Heavy lifting and carrying of equipment and raw materials, up to 50 pounds. • Prolonged standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work Environment: • Work outside and inside. • Work around machinery with moving parts. • Work around moving objects or vehicles. • Exposure to dampness and humidity. • Work on ladders and scaffolding • Exposure to slippery and uneven surfaces. • Exposure to loud noise, dust, and/or fumes. • A moderate noise level is typical for the work environment of this job.
