Date: 05/18/2021 Job Title: Junior Finisher (Paint Department) Department: Production, Alameda Reports to Brian Garber, Shop Supervisor Position Summary: A junior finisher in the paint department is responsible for assisting the lead finisher with a variety of tasks. These could include prepping materials for the painting process (i.e. sanding and priming), cleaning paint booths, assisting with changing out materials on the paint machine, replacing filters, mixing ingredients, project clean-up, and taking on special tasks as assigned. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: • Prepare and clean your work area daily • Prepare surfaces for painting and apply primary coatings • Assist the lead finisher throughout each project • Special projects as assigned Required knowledge, skills and abilities: • Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment. • Possess good verbal and written communication skills in English. • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability • Basic computer skills • Must be able to perform work in a safe and efficient manner with minimal supervision. • Must be able to follow instructions • Must have great attention to detail Education and Experience: • High School Diploma or GED • 2+ years’ work experience with references Physical Demands: • Moderate walking, standing, and/or climbing. • Heavy lifting and carrying of equipment and raw materials, up to 50 pounds. • Prolonged standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work Environment: • Work outside and inside. • Work around machinery with moving parts. • Work around moving objects or vehicles. • Exposure to dampness and humidity. • Exposure to slippery and uneven surfaces. • Exposure to loud noise, dust, and/or fumes. • A moderate noise level is typical for the work environment of this job.
