I don't think I will ever be able to afford to buy a house in Bay Area. I have been saving for years, hoping that the market would correct itself, but our government decided to start printing money and stimulating the economy and it's basically people who already have a house or two buying bigger homes, offering $200,000-400,000 over the asking price. I don't work in high tech. I have accumulated about $350,000 in downpayment after 10 years of saving, but I feel that my savings are losing their value every day. I can't afford to buy a home for my children in a decent school area with my $1,050,000 pre-approval and I don't know what to do. After checking houses on Zillow today I broke down and cried. I won't have a place for my old age. We will always be renters. I am tied to Bay Area because of work. Feeling hopeless......
