Sail Me is a sailing charter business in Perkins Cove, Ogunquit, Maine. This year will be my 6th summer in operation. The vessel is a Sabre 34, a “6 pack” charter vessel. I am looking forward to a busy season this summer. I am seeking a deckhand/mate for the upcoming sailing season. The season will run from mid/late June through the end of August. Generally working 5 days per week. The days can vary, but never Saturday. We sail 4 trips per day: one 1.5 hr trip and three 2 hour trips. A usual full work day is about 10+ hours. The goal is to provide guests with an enjoyable sailing experience, though it is not a narrated tour. Job description: Hoist sails. Assist in sail handling and handling of vessel. Assist in docking of vessel. Interact with passengers. Assist in cleaning of vessel. Requirements: MUST NOT get seasick. Boating or sailing experience preferred. Must be friendly and sociable with passengers. Must be nimble and agile to move around the boat during sailing operations. Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and be enrolled in random drug testing. This is a great opportunity for someone who likes being on the water & doesn’t like to be stuck on land for those hot summer days. You will have the opportunity to meet a lot of people from all over the country. Fine tune your sailing and boating abilities. Pay is per trip, plus tips.
