One of the first things Trump did while in office was to eliminate 90% of IRS audit agents. He literally eliminated 9 out of 10 people who enforce our tax codes. During Trumps reign, people who cheat on their taxes were 90% less likely to get caught. In essence, Trump was encouraging people to steal from our government.
I hate paying taxes as much as the next guy, but I also understand that living in a great nation is not free. Our military, our rods, our emergency services, our schools are just a few of the things that our taxes fund.
In my opinion, people who cheat on their taxes are no different than people who steal cars or break into houses. A thief is a thief. If you cheat on your taxes, you are stealing from every honest American taxpayer.
Biden is restoring the IRS staff to investigate and convict criminals who cheat on their taxes. Not only that, the new and improved IRS will be focused on finding the biggest offenders (wealthiest tax cheaters) first. People who commit perpetual tax fraud will be the priority investigations.
Trump claimed that he wanted law and order in this nation but the truth is, Trump is a white collar criminal. Any president who wants law and order wants it across the board.
