The Curb is looking for a person to hire as an apprentice in our kitchen. This person will be groomed on all aspects of employment in a busy bar and grill kitchen. He or she will learn the basics on every aspect of the back of the house. For instance, this person will learn everything from prepping food to helping with inventory. No experience is necessary. One goal is to teach the person many tasks and skills that can lead to line cooking and leadership. The person will work with our kitchen manager, leaders in kitchen and work with the front of house management. This is great opportunity to learn new skills and build your resume. Having kitchen experience and a kitchen resume offers you the ability to get a quick job or career anywhere you live. (college students moving for school for example would be positioned to have a job in their new town for school) This job pays more than our standard starting pay. We are offering $13 an hour plus tips (about $2 an hour average). As the apprentice learns more skills and an appetite for success, then we will have a goal of $15 an hour plus tips. All kitchen employees get a free meal. I offer a Simple IRA retirement program if interested. The Curb is a place where we treat staff with respect. We teach and help.
