Classically & conservatory trained violinist/fiddle player available for duos, trios, & sideman gigs, as well as studio or remote work. Sorry no jams just gigs right now. I've got the swing plus the chops. Experienced stage pro who's done it all, from European opera halls to dusty bluegrass festivals. Studied jazz under David Baker at Indiana University, have backed up Ray Charles and the Moody Blues, among others. Countless orchestra jobs, and I can write and arrange. I'd feel at home with minimal/no rehearsal for any country, bluegrass, or hot jazz setup. I have the Real Book and a bunch of Django charts as well. I have an electric plus the acoustic. I can also step into a studio strings situation, for playing and/or arranging. For remote work I've got Pro Tools and a couple of decent mics in the home studio. Later in the summer I'd like to put together a bluegrass 'supergroup', a hot jazz quartet/quintet, and an 80's cover band (reggae-bluegrassy), but for now I'm just putting the word out and could step out for some side gigs in the meantime.
