This licensed home-based daycare and preschool is run by a mom of 3 with 30 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Child Psychology, as well as a Master's Degree in Political Science. She's CPR & First-aid certified, and MAT trained so she can administer over-the-counter medication if needed. She has achieved the Maryland Child Care Credential – level 4, by the Maryland State Department of Education, participated in the Maryland Excels Program and is also accredited through the NAFCC, which offers national recognition to family child care programs meeting the highest standards for home-based early care and education. Teaching is her joy, passion, and purpose. Her program offers a play-based, yet structured environment. There are lots of hands-on activities throughout the day and the curriculum includes individualized lesson plans. Reading and writing, math and science, as well as American Sign Language are part of the daily curriculum to ensure children are meeting monthly goals. Her home has 1 acre of lush backyard with a large playground where children spend three or more hours outdoors daily. She cares for children as young as 8 weeks through 5 years old, including children with special needs.
