"REHOMING" your pets

Description

I wonder who came up with the word "re-home" regarding the selling of pets? When asking for a "small rehoming fee", that is selling your pet. Look, I know that there are times when a pet must be placed in the care of another person or family, for legitimate reasons such as an illness or emergency. But it infuriates me when I see people "re-homing" their dogs because "I am moving and the landlord will not allow pets", or how about "I just don't have the time to give him the attention he deserves." Pets, especially dogs, get very attached to their humans. If you don't know that you are going to give an animal a home for its whole life, barring a serious human illness or worse, DON'T GET A DAMN PET, especially a dog. I owned my beloved pup from six weeks until he died in my arms at thirteen years. I moved several times in his life. I simply did not consider a home that would not accept my pet. It can be done. You don't have the time to give a pet, especially a dog, the "time he deserves"? Then don't get a pet. Otherwise, you're just being selfish and irresponsible, and that animal deserves better. Calling the selling of your "beloved" pet, which you "unfortunately" must REHOME, is simply a less-guilty way of saying you're selling that animal.
