Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club is a challenging par-69 course located in Clearwater Florida. Between the Golf Club and the Driving Range, Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation also features an academy through a partnership with Pinellas County Schools. Also having a partnership with First Tee, Chi Chi Rodriguez Youth Foundation is helping grow the game of golf within the community. With several large-scale projects currently in progress and in planning, Chi Chi Rodriguez Golf Club is excited about adding to our team. The Golf Course Mechanic oversees a comprehensive preventive maintenance program. This program includes the repair of failing equipment, keeping records of parts and labor needed to maintain each piece of equipment, and placing orders for parts and supplies needed for equipment or service. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Must be knowledgeable and capable of operating all equipment and machinery utilized by the turf department including tools and machinery needed to make related repairs or routine maintenance. • Must be proactive in implementing and logging preventative maintenance programs for all equipment in the turf department. • Must be capable of diagnosing and making informed repairs and/or maintenance of but not limited to: o engines (gas & diesel) o tractors o hydraulics o electronics o tools or small equipment (i.e. blowers, weed eaters, chain saws, reels, bed-knives, etc.) • Ensures safe work environment to include compliance with State and Local guidelines and proper operating usage of equipment as defined in related owner’s manual specifications. • Assists in the training of team members for proper use of equipment & machinery. • Implements methods and procedures designed to minimize operational costs and maximize resources to insure the proper working order and longevity of each piece of equipment. • Timely completion of repairs and preventative maintenance to insure golf course quality standards are achieved. • Daily communication with the golf course superintendent regarding the status and condition of all turf equipment. • Ability to make fabrications or alterations to new or existing equipment to insure proper working order and efficiency. • Maintain adequate inventory levels of parts and supplies including fuel and oil levels. • Maintain a clean and orderly work area. • On course assistance to insure proper working order of all equipment. While performing the duties of this position, the team member must: • Lift, reach, bend, twist, push, pull, squat, grasp and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis • Have the ability to lift 50 pounds occasionally. • Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts (and associated noise levels related to) and outside weather conditions. • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. • Be able to work weekends and holidays, mornings and evenings as business demands.
