Educating teenagers on dating violence and how to prevent, resist, and defend against it. Limited capacity. Please sign up early! To promote awareness against dating violence, Dauntlez and T3MA are subsidizing this workshop to offer it at a discounted cost of $30 per attendee. Capacity is limited to 20 teens, so please sign up early and with a friend with who you will be comfortable practicing the techniques. Dauntlez is a 501(c) nonprofit organization whose vision is to transform communities by empowering individuals especially women and teens to prevent, resist, and/or defend against different forms of personal violence.  We do this through workshops and classes to educate the public on the mental and physical strategies for prevention and defense. Teen dating abuse is a public health crisis and according to the 2013 National Youth, Risk Behavior Survey  1 in 3 high school students experience either physical or sexual violence or both,  by someone they are dating or going out with. This workshop is a consolidated and combined curriculum from: CDC Dating Matters ProgramBreak the Cycle Org programAmerican Women's Self-Defense Association programThe workshop will cover the following topics: Healthy relationships and boundariesRed flags of an abusive relationshipFactors that contribute to abusePhysical self-defense techniques to defend against violenceThe workshop is open to teens 13 to 17 years old.  The workshop is on Sunday, June 13, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm for a total of 5 hours. REGISTRATION is REQUIRED and PARENTS must register their teens to sign the waiver forms. .
