Summer's colorful bounty comes to life in an interactive feast for all the senses at Spice Acres in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Join us at Spice Acres for the triumphant return of Plated Landscape™ dinners! We’ve partnered with Yellow House Cheese to create an earth-to-table dining experience that’s fresh + innovative, yet not unfamiliar for those that have attended in the past. Chefs Ben Bebenroth and Jonathan Bennett found common culinary inspiration from their travels in Brazil and Peru, respectively, and created an immersive “al asador” experience that will connect us more deeply to the journey from farm to plate. With an open pit outdoor cooking station as the focal point, attendees can watch chefs roast Yellow House lamb alongside the season’s vegetables from Spice Acres and other local farms over open flames. Welcoming Cocktail Pisco Sour with Spice Acres raspberries + eggs Hors D’oeuvres Guanciale with soft cheese + local jam on toast Walking crudité with #6 ranch + fermented chili Spiced shiitake and Yellow House cheese empanada, salsa verde First Hardwood grilled merguez, hot mustard, grilled focaccia aioli + pickle Salad Cucumber salad with cherry vinegar, torpedo onions, basil + cilantro, plank roasted trout Family Style Entrée Yellow House Lamb al asador with mint chimichurri + aji rojo Fire-roasted root vegetables with garlic + chilis Shreddy carrot slaw with house beer vinegar + herbs Open pit Shagbark beans Grilled naan Dessert Yellow House dulce de leche three ways: Profiterole Tres Leches Cake Cajeta with fresh fruit + salty YH cheese What is a Plated Landscape™ Dinner? Started in 2006, Plated Landscapes are the brainchild of Chef/Founder/Farmer, Ben Bebenroth. These al fresco dining experiences take place at our farm, Spice Acres, along with other scenic and immersive locations in Northeast Ohio. The evening begins with a signature beverage and seasonal hors d'oeuvres. Then, we’re introduced to the evening's host(s) - the stewards of the land! The group embarks on a 30-45 minute tour of the location and is then seated for a wine-paired dinner that incorporates food from our farm and the gems of the season’s harvest. About Spice Acres Spice Acres is one of only 10 farms that are part of a farm-leasing program in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park called the Countryside Initiative. Managed in partnership with Countryside, it is the only program in the country that conserves national park land through sustainable farming.
