Help us serve at Metro Caring to fill food boxes for their drive-up grocery on 6/9
Join Twiggs & Co. as we serve up some servant leadership with Metro Caring by helping to fill food boxes for their drive-up grocery. Due to strict social distancing, volunteers may not be working in the same group and will be assigned to help fill food boxes, load boxes into cars, and break bulk items into smaller units. Here are their policies on volunteering during COVID and social distancing to keep everyone safe.
Metro Caring will provide gloves, hand sanitizer, and handwashing stations and will take your temperature before entering the building. Please bring your own face mask, a reusable water bottle, and closed-toed shoes.Volunteers will meet in the white tent in Metro Caring's parking lot.Volunteers are encouraged to take groceries home. Please let the volunteer coordinator if you want a box.PARKING INFORMATION: Because Metro Caring is utliizing their parking lot for a food distribution drive-thru, there are no parking options in our parking lot. The best place to park is in any of the St. Joseph Hospital parking garages and then walk over to Metro Caring (about 2 blocks). Parking in the garages is free. You can also try street parking, but with all of the construction in the neighborhood, it's tough.
