Description

Join other CTL members on a tour of the first floor of the Amasa Day House! Connecticut Landmarks’ members are invited for a morning in East Haddam. Join other CTL members on a tour of the first floor of the Amasa Day House with guides from our Collections and Interpretation departments. Enjoy this limited opportunity to visit this landmark on the Moodus Green, which is currently open to the public on a by-appointment only basis. The Amasa Day House, built in 1816, is a classic Federal-Era structure. Home to farmers, bankers, and businesspeople, the house showcases the daily life of American families during the Industrial Revolution. The house is furnished with objects from the Day family, and includes 19th-century floor and stair stenciling. During the past two years, CTL made improvements to the house, including installing a new wood shingle roof and repainting the interior and exterior of the home. Light refreshments will be provided. Restrooms and Parking are available onsite. Last tour begins at 12:30 pm. Attendance will be limited to the first 100 CTL members to sign up. You must be a registered member to participate. To become a member visit www.ctlandmarks.org/memberships.
